Health
One theme that I can not get enough of, in an endless spectrum of information, Is health.
Health though can mean many different things from one individual to the next. For me, I see health as that of the planet and of the body. The planets eco system, our own eco systems and the connections between the two. And how I facilitate this for my self is through food, first and foremost. It makes more sense than a lot of things to me that if we nourish ourselves with foods from the earth, locally, seasonal and of clean and ethical sources then we can be in harmony with the planet but also embody the strength and resilience mother nature does too.
While food alone does not cure all, I truly believe it is the foundation. I layer a healthy nutritionally dense diet with things like meditation, learning, chiropractic and other modalities, but when I feel my clearest, energised and open self, more often then not I have been taking good care to nourish my vessel. This typically means I have avoided packaged foods, alcohol and sugar. Sleep has been prioritised and I have also exercised clear personal boundaries and listened to my own inner voice.
Plus, food and nutrition give me the joy and satisfaction in creating, learning and indulging. It’s been a curious year and then some. In a time when we are all fearful of illness, I feel like the simplicity of living in harmony with nature through good food, sleep, sun, fresh air and mindfulness are habits we can all incorporate into our day. One at a time, day by day.
This post was a quick flow of my thoughts inspired to listening to the SOUNDFOOD podcast interview with Unique Hammond.
