Welcome

I hope my musings on all things I find to be beautiful, through object, nature, food, wellness, spirituality and more keeps you curious and perhaps sparks a light to seek more.

I want to 'rewire' my 'food brain'

I want to 'rewire' my 'food brain'

On this Sunday evening I lay on the sofa watching Chefs Table France episodes. Instantly I am mesmerised by the simplicity and beauty of regional, seasonal and real whole foods. I have also been watching Rick Steins Cornwell, which is superb.

Out of nowhere my inner voice said ‘I want to rewire my food brain’ which I also instantly understood to be ‘i want to get back to regional, season eating’ Which for me is none of the convenient, gimmicky, slightly addictive and unnecessary snacks that I deem ‘healthy’ ie. acai bowls and chocolate peanut butter cups from Green Cup. Which are DELICIOUS and actually not that bad, but I also add the coffee and biscuit treat with the block of chocolate or coconut oil chips. That over time become more frequent then the true meaning of a treat.

A feeling of true satiation is felt, while vital nutrition and minerals are recieved, through food grown in your local soil, supported by the cycles of the same moon that our bodies harmonise with. Also the most often ethical and sustainable. All of which is very aligned with my own values, ethically, energetically, in mind, body and spirit. I have read a lot of discussions around how it is one of the most optimal ways to eat, I try to be as close to this way as possible. However I do have a bit of a habit of what I call ‘overpriced, organic, ethical, vegan treats’ which are GOOD, but like anything, in moderation.

Just a thought, that I literally had a few minutes ago and couldn’t help but write a post on. I feel like this could be a little something I put through the motions of a Joe Dispense meditation, feel the feeling and visualise the feelings of this close to natures cycles way. Might be time to break the habit of over indulging and getting more aligned with nature through nourishment.

A conversation I might continue.
